Paper to ECF Scanning Service to Cease

As part of the Claims Transformation Programme (CTP), Lloyd’s implemented a service to convert eligible paper-based claims to ECF. The service, provided in partnership by Triton Global and DocuLand, went live in June 2014.

In line with the contractual terms between Lloyd’s and the providers, and after consultation with the LMA and LIIBA, the scanning service will be ceasing on 31 December 2016. This decision has been taken based on the use of the service, market requirements and cost.

In order to maximise the use of the service as much as possible while still operational, Lloyd’s and the LMA have agreed to relax the rule whereby files should only be submitted upon the next update of a paper claim. The requirement for Lead agreement to convert a paper claim to ECF still applies.

Managing agents are therefore requested to work with brokers in converting paper-based claim files absent of an update, so that the next claim update can be processed electronically.
