LMA's Powell named deputy chair of Thatcham Research
David Powell, the Lloyd’s Market Association’s manager of non-marine, has been elected to the new role of deputy chair of Thatcham Research, the UK insurance industry’s automotive testing centre.
The deputy chair position was created by the board of Thatcham Research in order to support the chair, and to provide continuity during interregnum periods when a new chair is being appointed.
Mr Powell is currently the longest serving director of Thatcham, having been on the board for nine years. He said: “I’m delighted to support the Thatcham team by taking on this role, and I look forward to continuing to work with the organisation to deliver value to members. Thatcham plays a critical role, both in in providing data and information for members, and in supporting the independent repair sector, which creates downwards pressure on costs for motor insurers.”
Mr Powell takes on his new responsibilities, in addition to his role at the LMA, with immediate effect.
