French Translations for Québec

The purpose of this bulletin is to provide Members with an update on the status of wordings requested for translation as part of the LMA’s Québec translation project.

Back in 2022 the Québec Government enacted Bill 96, An Act respecting French, the official and common language of Québec. To assist Members in complying with the new law, the LMA requested feedback from its committees to compile a list of commonly used market wordings/clauses for translation into French.

This link provides details of the wordings/clauses requested and their project status. Copies of the translated documents are accessible via the Lloyd's Wordings Repository.

Due to the demand for translation services in Québec some endorsements updated after the list was compiled are still to be translated.

Please note the LMA does not have access to copies of Insurance Bureau of Canada policy forms/endorsements which are available by subscription.
