LMA Wordings Forum – 14 January 2026

The Forum met to discuss key developments in wordings across the Lloyd’s market.

Members received an external presentation on recent cyber claims trends in the United States. The presentation addressed key legal developments relevant to insurance wordings, including jurisdictional considerations, the emergence of AI‑enabled cyber threats, and the continued importance of robust “Other Insurance” provisions.

Progress was noted on outstanding action points, including the AI Survey Loss Scenarios survey, which had been drafted and was undergoing legal review ahead of anticipated publication.

Members were updated on the Brazilian insurance law that came into effect in December 2024, with LMA guidance and draft clauses continuing to be issued on a rolling basis. The December 2025 SUSEP consultation was highlighted as creating uncertainty around Claims Cooperation and Control clauses, prompting a request for further clarification on placement procedures and documentation. The LMA agreed to circulate relevant draft regulations and explanatory notes.

Consideration of the Digital Assets Bill was deferred to the April Forum.

The Forum welcomed suggestions for future topics and speakers.

It was noted that the next Forum on 21 April would feature a speaker on AI and policy wordings.
