On behalf of the Joint Natural Resources – Survey & Engineering Sub Committee, the LMA and International Underwriting Association (IUA) have published a Floating Unit Mooring Assessment (FUMA) code of practice and survey scope of work document.

The document is designed to promote and enable constructive dialogue with Assureds with respect to mooring systems. In particular, it:

• Provides an opinion on the fitness for purpose of a mooring system based on four levels of audit.
• Assists the Assured in understanding operational practices and contingencies.
• Collects data on the Assured’s mooring system and associated facilities.

It is available for immediate use and is available to download here.
