In April 2025, the LMA released two model endorsements that could be used in conjunction with binding authority agreements (LMA3113(A)/4/5 and LMA3134) to ensure policy documents issued are compliant with Lloyd’s mandate of lead security (see LMA bulletin: LMA25-008-DG). There was a subsequent update to one of the model endorsements (see LMA Bulletin: LMA25-023-DG).
The LMA has now updated all other model wordings containing the phrase ‘Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s’ to match the requirements set out in Lloyd’s bulletin Y5438 ‘Delegated authority agreements – mandate of lead security’. Please note the language has been updated in line with language used in the endorsements published earlier in the year and is set out below:
For all jurisdictions, other than USA / Canada –
“Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s led by [Insert Managing Agent Name], Lloyd’s Syndicate [insert Syndicate number]”
For Canada –
“Lloyd’s Underwriters led by [Insert Managing Agent Name], Lloyd’s Syndicate [insert Syndicate number]”
For USA –
“Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s led by Lloyd’s Syndicate [insert Syndicate number]”
