The Wordings Committee met to review progress across a wide range of clauses and market guidance initiatives. The meeting opened with a reminder of the LMA Charter and competition law compliance.
The Committee noted the publication of LMA5020A/B, LMA5021A and NMA1998A with accompanying guidance. The Committee also discussed recent publications including LMA5668/5669 (Terrorism & Political Violence Hybrid Cyber Clauses) and LMA5673-5675 (Contingency SRCC Clauses), with guidance notes pending.
Several wordings were reviewed including NMA2244E (Loss Occurrence Clause), drafts of the Personal Accident KA Form and two SME consumer event cancellation wordings.
The Committee Effectiveness Review was presented, with proposals including AI-generated meeting summaries, quarterly in-person meetings and revised agenda structures. Members were invited to share preferences ahead of implementation.
Other items included the proposed withdrawal of LMA5576 (RESC Wildfire Mitigation Minimum Requirements), the implications of trade tariffs on asset valuation and the status of LMA5189 (Broker Remuneration Disclosure Clause). The Committee also discussed the withdrawal of NMA2914/2915 and agreed to review the LMA’s clause archival and withdrawal protocol.
