The LMA Wordings Committee convened on 2nd September 2025, with members attending both in person and via MS Teams. The meeting opened with a reminder of the importance of compliance with competition law and the LMA Charter, ensuring a collaborative and open environment for discussion.
The Committee reviewed several key wordings, including a new Greenwashing Exclusion for use with LMA3150B/3151B, which was amended and referred for further review. Updates to the LMA5671/5672 Indian Reinsurance Clauses were discussed, with plans for further consultation and guidance notes.
Members received updates on actions from previous meetings, including the finalisation and publication of various clauses and guidance documents. The Committee also discussed the continued review of property reinsurance clauses, model TOBA updates, and the publication of FAQs for the General Documentation Clause.
The Committee addressed the impact of forthcoming Brazilian insurance law changes, agreeing to engage local counsel for drafting model clauses. The review of aviation wordings in light of recent legal developments was also discussed, with further updates expected.
The Committee were notified of work due to commence on contingency reinsurance, nuclear exclusion and mining clauses, with calls for volunteers to support drafting efforts. The Committee also considered updates to bloodstock wordings and the migration of the Wordings in Production list to a new platform.
Members were invited to join new class-specific review groups, and arrangements for upcoming meetings and committee vacancies were discussed.
