The Renewable Energy Committee met on 3 June 2025 to discuss regulatory, wording, and market developments. The LMA confirmed that the Wildfire wording (LMA 5574/75) will be withdrawn by year-end due to limitations around non-compliance consequences. Members were encouraged to attend Power Gen Committee meetings on a rotational basis. Sub-groups reported limited progress, with plans to revisit the obsolescence clause and advance claims and wording priorities. Members discussed increased claims linked to LPS 2 upgrades and junction box issues, as well as flooding at a Tennessee solar site affecting PD and BI coverage. Concerns were raised about market wordings omitting paramount clauses and the importance of the series loss clause. Additional topics included DNV wind training, endorsement practices, NOAA’s cessation of new weather event recording, and the Texas Ice Chip hail monitoring project.
