The Forum met to discuss key developments in wordings across the Lloyd’s market.
Members received an external presentation on microplastics and associated litigation trends in the US. The session highlighted evolving exposures and the potential implications for insurance wordings, prompting questions around the interaction of environmental risks, PFAS exclusions and future litigation trajectories.
It wasnoted that the Contract Wordings Foundation Course materials would be refreshed ahead of the September 2026 course, with volunteers invited to support the update.
Several wording initiatives were reviewed. Updated Indian collateralisation clauses had been released, including a revised LOC clause and new Funds Withheld wordings, with supporting guidance to follow.
Progress continued under Project Spring Clean, with usage reviews well underway and some committees beginning clause-review phases. Clarification was also provided on the archiving and withdrawal notification process, now live since July 2025.
Additional updates included: preliminary findings from the AI Survey (with further data to be incorporated), ongoing work on clauses responding to Brazilian regulatory changes, and confirmation of the publication of the updated Property and Plant Testing and Commissioning Clause (LMA5197C). Members also noted that the TOBA review sits with the LMA Legal Committee.
The Airtable “Wordings in Production” tracker has now been replaced by a Microsoft List. Members may request access via the LMA.
The Forum[CG1] welcomed suggestions for future topics and speakers. The next meeting will take place on 14 January 2026.
