Disease Outbreaks
Updates were provided on WNV cases in Italy and across the EU, noting potential need for exclusions. EHV cases in the US and Canada were reported, with some providers applying 30‑day exclusions. Australian bush fires had caused limited equine losses but continued to pose risks.
Vet Liaison Group
The February meeting date was pending confirmation. Members were invited to send topic suggestions, and hosting options were discussed.
LMA Meetings Requirements
Members were reminded of expectations regarding camera use during virtual meetings.
Wordings Update
Amendments to Humane Destruction references across 41 model wordings were completed. Archiving of LSW1870 was discussed. The panel reaffirmed interest in progressing the FSI/Option A project. The draft consumer/commercial cyber clause was approved for use, pending Wordings Cmt approval of the updated Computer System definition. The original NMA1485 jurisdiction clause remained valid, with comments on an incorrect market version. A proposal to produce a version‑control document for model wordings was welcomed.
Any Other Business
Members were asked to complete the LMA Committee Effectiveness Review. Updates on BEVA guidelines were noted, with plans to revisit wording implications once finalised. The Horse Welfare Board traceability project was discussed, noting that data requests had been made to several firms.
