The Aviation Committee met to consider market engagement, committee composition and technical matters relevant to the aviation insurance sector.
The minutes of the previous meeting held on 16 July 2025 were approved without amendment.
Members discussed committee membership and market representation, including a request for additional representation and the potential benefits of expanding participation to reflect a broad range of market views. The Committee considered closer collaboration with the IUA, including the possibility of a joint committee structure, while noting the importance of maintaining effective links with existing Aviation Insurance Clauses Group (AICG) activity.
The Committee also considered knowledge‑sharing and capability development within the aviation market. Members discussed the value of improving technical expertise, particularly for newer entrants and early‑career practitioners, and whether wider participation, including brokers, could be beneficial. Further engagement with the LMA Academy was agreed as an action.
Updates were noted from relevant sub‑committees, including the Hull War Forum and AICG, with recent materials circulated to members.
