Cyber Business Panel – 24 September 2025

The LMA wordings team presented a draft Type 5 Cyber War Exclusion, noting issues around the phrase “directly or indirectly” and agreeing to clarify intent with legal counsel. Members recommended removing unnecessary definitions and aligning infrastructure terminology. A member poll supported creating a model infrastructure exclusion clause, with a working group to draft it alongside the Type 5 clause. The Emerging Professionals Sub-Committee is being formed, with nominations nearly complete and an introductory meeting planned for November. Work continues on the SME cyber product, including engagement with government and industry bodies and gathering market wordings. Broker engagement training is planned for November. Updates from the Non-Marine Committee covered AI scenario planning, tariff enforcement, and the development of computable binding authority agreements. A lack of responses to the AI survey prompted plans to recirculate it. The panel also discussed risk code allocation challenges and concerns about press leaks.
