International Liability Committee meeting – 15 January 2026

The International Liability Business Panel meeting on 15th of January 2026 reviewed progress on key projects, regulatory developments, and emerging liability trends. The Bodily Injury Index continued to expand, now covering 56 territories with more to follow, alongside plans for wider PR activity and a secure onboarding model for non‑LMA users. Updates were given on LTA wordings, PFAS exclusions which are now widespread in the market, and ongoing work on legacy LMA clauses under Project Spring Clean.

The panel discussed Brazilian regulatory proposals restricting claims cooperation and control clauses, noting practical challenges for London market participants. Claims updates highlighted rising silicosis exposures and sunscreen product failures.

Further topics included Lloyd’s concerns over rate decreases and erosion of exclusions, the need for a life sciences risk‑code working group, UK product liability reform, and growing focus on AI‑related exposures, including potential drafting of AI‑specific clauses.
