The Nick Mills’ Memorial Lecture 2026 took place in January and the recording is now available to view below.
Hosted by the LMA Livestock and Bloodstock Committee, the annual lecture brought together members of the Lloyd’s Bloodstock community to reflect on emerging risks affecting the equine sector.
This year’s lecture was delivered by Richard Newton, Director of Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance at the University of Cambridge, who explored Emerging Equine Infectious Diseases in an Era of Climate Change. The session examined how shifting environmental conditions are influencing disease patterns and considered the implications for surveillance, prevention and risk management.
The lecture was held in memory of Nick Mills, whose longstanding contribution to the insurance market and the Lloyd’s community remains greatly valued.
