The LMA supports Lloyd’s reinsurers by providing expert guidance, technical training and representing market interests across the global reinsurance landscape. We work closely with managing agents and Lloyd’s to address regulatory developments and technical matters.
The LMA operates three committees focused on reinsurance: Property Reinsurance, International Casualty Reinsurance and North American Casualty Reinsurance. In addition, we support the Joint Excess of Loss Committee, a marine reinsurance group that is run jointly with the IUA. The LMA also represents members at the Reinsurance Wordings Expert Forum, a platform for discussion of international reinsurance issues.
Our reinsurance work focuses on both treaty and facultative reinsurance and monitoring international compliance requirements, ensuring members are equipped to navigate complex risks and evolving standards. We also publish model clauses and guidance notes for information and assistance, including on US collateral requirements and sanctions compliance. Through regular events, forums and briefings, we bring together Lloyd’s reinsurance professionals to share insights, shape best practice and drive innovation.
