LMA Board Member

Christiern has more than three decades of experience in international (re)insurance markets and assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at MS Amlin in January 2026.

Previously, he spent 17 years at Brit, including five years as Group Chief Underwriting Officer, overseeing more than £2 billion of underwriting capacity across a multi-line insurance and reinsurance portfolio. During his time at Brit, he served as Deputy Active Underwriter for Syndicate 2987 and subsequently as Active Underwriter for both Syndicates 2987 and 2988.

Christiern began his underwriting career in 1994 at CNA Re, joining Liberty Syndicates in 1999 underwriting the North American delegated portfolio and then joined Brit in 2006.

Matthew joined the LMA in 2026 as Underwriting Director, where he leads the LMA’s Underwriting team and plays a critical role in working with the Corporation of Lloyd’s, LMA members and the wider Lloyd’s market.

He has 20 years’ London market experience, during which he has held a range of leadership roles for companies writing between US$150m annually to US$3.9bn GWP. Prior to joining the LMA, he served as CUO and Active Underwriter for Ki. He was previously responsible for an underwriting portfolio of US$3.9bn GWP at The Fidelis Partnership, working across multiple classes including reinsurance, marine, aviation, political violence, contingency, political risk, transactional liability and property D&F.

Nick Moore has 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry, the last 20 of which have been within the Lloyd’s market. Nick was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Argenta Holdings Ltd with effect from 01 January 2023 having joined the Argenta Board in July 2022.

Nick joined ASML as Chief Actuary in 2009, having previously spent time with the Corporation of Lloyd’s as Manager, Marketing, Reserving and Capital. He started his career at Swiss Re as an actuarial analyst. He was appointed to the Board of ASML in July 2012 and as Managing Director of the Company with effect from 01 January 2023.
