Lloyd’s Market Association Bulletin

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes in to effect on Friday 25 May 2018.

The LMA, jointly with DAC Beachcroft, has produced market guidance on the application of the GDPR in the Insurance Industry.

LMA GDPR Guide

In this guide, in addition to an overview, we have aimed to address at market level various points which have been raised at LMA presentations on GDPR.

The guide includes sections on:

• application and jurisdictional scope
• the role of Data Controllers and Data Processors
• Data Subject Rights
• Fair Processing Notices
• legal grounds for processing under the GDPR, including the new ground under the Data Protection Bill (subject to enactment, which is expected soon)
• consent under the GDPR
• policy and procedure checklist.
