Lloyd’s Market Association Bulletin

In order to satisfy Lloyd’s Bulletin Y5277 – Providing clarity for Lloyd’s customers on coverage for cyber exposures, the LMA Motor Committee has published the following suite of model cyber clauses:

• LMA5434 Motor Insurance Cyber Endorsement No. 1 (Death and bodily injury)
• LMA5435 Motor Insurance Cyber Endorsement No. 2 (Death, bodily injury & property damage)
• LMA5436 Motor Insurance Cyber Endorsement No. 3 (Property damage)
• LMA5437 Motor Insurance Cyber Exclusion No. 1 (Exclusion of theft, loss or damage – including connected devices)
• LMA5438 Motor Insurance Cyber Exclusion No. 2 (Exclusion of cyber losses caused by malicious acts)
• LMA5439 Motor Insurance Cyber Exclusion No. 3 (1st and 3rd party cyber risks exclusion)
• LMA5440 Motor Insurance Cyber Exclusion No. 4 (1st and 3rd party exclusion of malicious acts)
• LMA5441 Motor Insurance Cyber Exclusion No. 5 (Exclusion of loss/damage caused by a computer virus or ransomware attack)
• LMA5442 Motor Insurance Cyber Exclusion No. 6 (Exclusion of loss/damage caused by over-the air software updates)
• LMA5443 Motor Insurance Cyber Exclusion No. 7 (Exclusion of theft, loss, damage or disablement by computer virus, ransomware or over-the-air software updates)
• LMA5444 Motor Insurance Cyber Exclusion No. 8 (Exclusion of data loss)
• LMA5445 Motor Insurance Cyber Exclusion No. 9 (Exclusion of electronic devices and data loss)

These clauses have been drafted for use on both consumer and commercial risks, and are not territory-specific.

As with all LMA model clauses, these clauses are purely illustrative and are distributed for the guidance of LMA members, who are free to agree to different conditions or amend as they see fit.
