LMA Third Party Claims Educational Programme for Singapore and Australia
The LMA, in conjunction with Wotton Kearney Australia, is delighted to run the LMA Third Party Claims Educational Programme for Singapore and Australia for the second time. A slightly extended scope to the inaugural trip, the programme will now cover general liability, financial and professional lines.
Australia is the fourth largest territory in the Lloyd’s market, and it is also home to a variety of complex third party liability claims, with some of the largest non-US claims arising from this territory. The LMA are committed to ensuring the London market has a group of talented and knowledgeable adjusters who are aware of all the intricacies these territories have to offer. Where better to start than targeting the rising talent currently employed within the many Lloyd’s managing agencies who underwrite here.

Dates: 03 – 12 March 2027
Delegates will spend 03 – 05 March in Singapore, before flying to Sydney, Australia, on 06 March for six days. Depart on 12 March.

Programme description
The programme will build on and introduce new knowledge and contextual application of this and introduce key stakeholders from the local market helping to build relationships and develop awareness of local regulation.
Attendees will gain an enriching experience across the trip, including:
- Practical experience in two key Lloyd’s market territories and expanded technical knowledge of the territories and the commonly associated issues.
- A heightened understanding of Australian litigation, obtaining first-hand exposure to the courts, the litigation process and the parties involved.
- An appreciation of complex claims management in a key Lloyd’s trading territory, with a traditionally challenging claims and legal environment.
- Strengthened new and existing professional relationships amongst both the Lloyd’s third party liability market and the Australian insurance market.
- Long-term professional development of delegates at an industry level, striving towards the ultimate goal of providing the best possible claims service to clients.
- An understanding of the clients’ needs and expectations with regards to the management of claims and the role of key stakeholders in the process, such as Lloyd’s Australia and Delegated Claims Administrators.
- Enhanced soft skills such as presentation skills, teamwork and communication.
- An overview of the claims talent that Lloyd’s has to offer to the global insurance market.
Registration
Places on the trip are limited, in the event it is oversubscribed the selection will be fair and transparent. Only one applicant per managing agent will be considered.
Applicants must have/provide:
Written support from their Managing Agent’s Claims Director/Head of Claims, and:
- Hold a valid passport and secure all appropriate rights to travel including visas where needed for entering Singapore and Australia
- Curriculum Vitae
- Answer the following questions in no more than 250 words per question:
- Why should you be the delegate chosen from your Managing Agent?
- What learnings do you hope to gain from the programme and how will you apply these?
- What lines of business do you primarily work on?
The costs
Managing agents will be asked to fund:
- Return flights to Singapore and Sydney, Australia, and transport to and from airports.
- Accommodation costs. Bookings will be coordinated by Wotton Kearney Australia with current quotes as follows:
- Singapore SG$350 per night – SG$1050 / approx. £610.
- Sydney AUD$465 per night – AUD$2790 / approx. £1,500.
- Meals (where these are not sponsored) and miscellaneous items.
Wotton Kearney has generously agreed to sponsor a number of networking meals and entertainment during the trip.
Note: The 2025 trip cost in the region of £7,500 including business class return flights. Please note these prices are likely to have increased, we encourage applicants to carefully review internal policies and make appropriate enquiries into all available options.
