FinPro Claims Group Symposium

The group hosts an annual symposium, bringing together delegates from across the Lloyd’s market to explore emerging trends, hear expert insights on systemic FinPro related exposures and examine their impact on claims handling. The forum supports knowledge sharing and equips attendees with the skills to respond effectively to evolving FinPro risks.

CLA guidance for financial lines claims

The group has created a guidance document to support claims handlers with the intricacies of handling Lloyd’s Claims Lead Arrangement.

PICG Conference 

The aim of the PICG Conference is to address and discuss salient issues that are relevant to the Property sector both in London and on an international basis and further to provide an educational and networking opportunity for claims practitioners within the Property sector.

Broker engagement

PICG regularly meets with its broker counterparts to discuss common issues or how to better work together to provide an excellent claims service to customers.

Property market forums

CAT response

Emerging Professionals Claims Community Hosts Series

The community regularly hosts market groups and professionals to share their insights into their specific sectors, areas of expertise of career journeys, providing emerging professionals with exposure into areas outside of their day to day.

Networking

The community helps bring together early career claims professionals through regular events, workshops and informal meetups. These opportunities encourage relationship building across LMA member firms, promote knowledge exchange and connect individuals with mentors, peers, and industry leaders, helping them grow their professional network within the Lloyd’s market.

Educational series

The community runs an educational series focused on soft skills and career development for claims professionals. Sessions cover topics such as communication, leadership and navigating career paths, equipping members with the tools and confidence to thrive both professionally and personally within the market.

The Political Violence & Terrorism Claims Group provides a platform for market-wide collaboration on claims issues in this sector, including terrorism, sabotage, strikes, riots and civil commotion, insurrection, war and other politically motivated violence. It works to support other LMA committees and the London market when affected by these risks. The group also delivers a dedicated forum to elevate claims expertise across the Lloyd’s market.

Geopolitical

The group continues to monitor geopolitical situations across multiple jurisdictions including the Ukrainian conflict with Russia, various South American and African conflicts and the ongoing Israeli/Haas conflict.

Learning and development

The group will again welcome the market to a Loss Adjuster panel discussion where representatives from various loss adjusting firms will join members of the group to discuss current hot topics across the sector.

The Claims Operations Leadership Group provides a representative forum that allows for the discussion of elevating the claims proposition through digital and/or process-driven enhancements, as well as tackling common issues across all business classes. It takes the lead in identifying and investigating related issues with an objective of producing solutions for the benefit of the market.

FCP

FCP is one of the key milestones for the Future at Lloyd’s Velonetic re-platforming programme, which is digitalising the Lloyd’s market to make it better, faster, and cheaper. FCP gives managing agents (MAs) greater flexibility in their capital management and provides all participants with real-time visibility over claims payments, as well as a reduction in associated account and transactions fees.

In summer 2025, the COLG conducted an assessment that helped to inform the Vitesse FCP contract renewal discussions. Full LMA members can view the findings here.

This initiative is being delivered in partnership between the Lloyd’s Lab, the LMA and LIMOSS, created specifically to address the market’s most pressing challenges through finding the best-in-class insurtechs to solve their needs.

COLG is supporting the adoption of Velonetic re-platforming and the wider claims community in its efforts to modernise and digitise the market.

The LMA Academy enhances the technical expertise of claims professionals within the Lloyd’s market. Training initiatives

In collaboration with the LMA Academy, the group has developed training programmes designed to aid all levels of cyber professionals in managing and handling cyber risks. The flagship course, Cyber Foundation Programme, runs annually and is aimed at helping early talent to recognise and understand cyber threats and manage claims.

Cyber Claims Forum

The group hosts an annual Cyber Claims Forum, bringing together delegates from across the Lloyd’s market to explore emerging cyber trends, hear expert insights on systemic cyber events and examine their impact on claims handling. The forum supports knowledge sharing and equips attendees with the skills to respond effectively to evolving cyber risks.

UK Government Ransomware Legislative Proposals

The group contributed to the LMA’s response to the UK Government Ransomware Legislative Proposals, providing expertise on behalf of the claims market.

The event supports knowledge sharing and equips attendees with the skills to respond effectively to evolving general liability risks.

Talent development

The group is focused on ongoing technical development for the general liability market, having recently held a ‘speed mentoring’ event to bring together new entrants to the general liability market with senior leaders to great success.

Extreme weather events such as hurricanes and flooding) are increasing cargo damage and vessel incidents. There is also greater scrutiny over pollution-related claims, especially involving oil or hazardous materials.

There remains uncertainty about how cyber losses are covered, especially in traditional marine policies.
